Women in trade and technology (FIT)

Technology needs more women

The regional initiative to promote technically skilled female workers in Upper Austria

The AMS programme “Women in Trade and Technology” supports companies that look to the skills of women in terms of the future demand for skilled labour, and it assists women who are looking for vacancies with a future. The aim of the FIT initiative is to encourage women to become qualified in skilled technical occupations such as mechatronic engineering, information technology, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. The AMS finances these qualifications which award women apprenticeship certificates or comparable school certificates, and it also covers the cost of courses at universities of applied and natural sciences and technical colleges. FIT for companies – the AMS supports Upper Austrian companies to train and employ women in occupations with a future.
