The consequences of structural change for the labour market were examined in the AMS Austria employment forecast report. Changes in consumer behaviour, technical and organisational innovations, and international division of labour are shifting the importance of economic sectors, and thus the extent and structure of demand for labour and jobs. This also shifts the importance of activities within industries, the emergence of new job descriptions and a shift in skill requirements for certain job profiles.
The report on the medium-term employment forecast for Upper Austria presents the forecasts for occupational and sectoral employment development, and considers the characteristics of the individual regions.
